Optioned with thick white racing stripes on bright red paint with matching brakes, this car is theatrical in every sense of the word. With a very low and wide stance it has racing pedigree written all over it. Light Weight Forged Aluminum wheels were optioned from factory giving this supercar an even more aggressive look, while reducing unsprung weight for much better handling over the standard wheels.
Built as a homage to the Ford GT Le Mans cars of the ’60’s, more than 30 years after the original, Ford unveiled their new GT concept. The concept was met with awe and amazement at the Detroit motor show in 1995, Ford knew they had to put the car into production.
Still impressive today, the Ford GT came with a staggering 550 Horsepower and 500 Lbs – Ft from its 5.4L supercharged V8 connected to a 6 speed manual transmission. While supercars of the time were starting to become more complicated and disconnected, this GT is the perfect balance between performance and simplicity. With no driver aids intervening and cutting power, this beast requires expertise to get the most behind the wheel. Yet in everyday situations the GT is relatively easy to drive. Predictable clutch engagement and light steering mean it doesn’t compromise its drivability for performance.
