The Clubsport shares its front axle, lower control arms, and tie rods with the 911 GT3 Cup. The rear suspension is a combination of a reinforced spring-strut axle from the Cayman GT4 and adapted control arms from the GT3 Cup. The monoblock brake calipers, six-piston in front and four-piston out back, are also from the GT3 Cup. There are 15-inch steel rotors (the only option) all around, covered by 18-inch wheels wrapped with race tires. For Clubsport duty, the interior is stripped out, and the curb weight is down to a claimed 2866 pounds, an 89-pound reduction versus the street car.
The engine, a 3.8-liter flat-six, is out of the 911 Carrera S. But the regular GT4’s calling card is conspicuously absent: The six-speed manual has been traded for a PDK automatic. Of course, this double-clutch gearbox shifts faster, but it’s also about racing durability. Without a third pedal, there’s no possibility of a missed shift or botched heel-toe that could cause mechanical damage.
