This 1970 Ford Bronco was originally built July 2, 1970 at the Michigan Ford truck plant. The truck was ordered for and delivered at Dearborn Motors Ltd in Kamloops, BC. The Bronco’s rotisserie restoration was commissioned in early 2022 and took over a year before completion. No expense was spared or corner cut in this complete body off, nut & bolt restoration. The owner of over a decade purchased the truck in extremely clean period condition from the believed second owner. That second owner told the history of the Bronco having served as a BC Hydro truck. The build was documented throughout the process to ensure the future owner has intimate knowledge of his or her dream Bronco.
The Ford Bronco was restored with its heritage top of mind but, with the modern updates to make it versatile and usable. Fuel injection was added to the original 302 V8, modern high quality Wildwood power disc brakes were upgraded at each corner. The original 302 V8 was professionally disassembled and rebuilt with new parts. Key upgrades were not overlooked during this process. Holley Sniper fuel injection was fitted to the 302 V8 for modern drivability and operation. The camshaft was upgraded to a RV cam to increase power, sound and torque. The driveshafts were removed stripped & painted then installed with new u-joints. The transmission was removed, inspected and professionally rebuilt. New clutch was installed as well. Front and Rear Dana Axels were removed, rebuilt and resinstalled. In short – everything mechanically has been rebuilt, reinstalled and broken in.
The interior was removed and stripped from the truck. The floorboards, firewall and interior sheet metal was primed and painted. Then sound deadening paneling was applied to the floor before installation of new carpets, new seats, new dash pad, seat belts and anything else – replaced. Locking Tuffy centre console was added between the front bucket seats. Almost all of the original glass is still present in the truck, but with new seals and rubbers.
