This iconic 2005 Porsche Carrera GT #857 is finished in its original Basalt Black Metallic paint over 2-tone Black & Terracotta leather interior. Originally sold new in the USA at New Country Porsche of Greenwich, CT it now is available in our Victoria, BC showroom. This Carrera GT is a rare combination of exterior and interior colours. Just 41 cars were built for North America in Basalt Black Metallic paint. Complete with clean Carfax report and a fresh Porsche dealer PPI inspection and service that included clutch measurement of 30.1. Records of continual Porsche servicing over the years of this cars enjoyment document its pedigree.
This car in particular offers a unique opportunity to potential buyers. The majority of Carrera GT cars offered for sale have sub 5k mileage. This low mileage while attractive often means a car hasn’t had routine servicing as their owners don’t drive them. Not the case with this GT. Routine servicing and an OEM clutch replacement mean it is well sorted and driven. To find the rare Basalt Black color in combined with a fully serviced car that has an odometer forgiving of frequent use is beyond rare. Enjoy this car knowing that summer use will not adversely affect your value.
Porsche built 673 units of the Carrera GT during production for the USA and Canada. Color is by far one of the key attributes that dictate value for the Carrera GT. Porsche offered 6 standard color options for the Carrera GT; 362 GT Silver, 103 Black, 64 Seal Grey, 44 Fayence Yellow, 42 Guards Red, 41 Basalt Black. Basalt Black was the rarest of all standard color options.
Porsche offered these supercars with a custom set of Italian leather matching luggage. The luggage was comprised of 7 pieces; travel bag, brief case, suit bag, shoulder bag, centre console bag & 2 tool bags. This car is complete with 6 of the 7 pieces in black leather.
The Porsche Carrera GT was an absolute success with blending a Le Mans derived engine, cutting edge technology and carbon fibre. Porsche dusted off the aluminum 5.5L V10 they had previously built for racing and built the Carrera GT around it. 612 horsepower was nestled into the middle of the carbon monocoque chassis and paired to a 6-speed manual transmission. That pairing alone is a distinct calling card of the Carrera GT. If you can’t drive a manual transmission – you can’t drive the Carrara GT.
