Mercedes' built the G-Squared as a tribute to the outgoing version of their iconic G-Glass SUV that has existed since 1979. They built this truck as a limited edition AMG SUV that employs portal gear axels for improved ground clearance and wider stance. Mercedes also fitted this beefed up G-Glass with a wider stance, larger wheels/tires and a completely upgraded suspension.
Driving these large AMG G-Wagons is actually much improved compared to their shorter G63 siblings. The ride is quite smooth and compliant providing a enjoyable ride in a truck with such an aggressive stance.
