A time-capsule example of Dodge’s raw, analog American supercar
We are delighted to offer this extraordinary 1992 Dodge Viper RT/10, an iconic first-year example that remains in as-new condition with just 28 original miles. Not registered until 2025—over three decades after it was built—this Viper represents one of the finest and most unspoiled examples of the analog American supercar ever to come to market.
One of just 285 units produced in the model’s inaugural year, this Viper was originally assigned to Colonial Dodge of Kensington, Maryland. Rather than being sold at retail, the car was sent to a dealer auction, where it was acquired by Kelowna Plymouth Chrysler in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. It was then purchased new by a private collector who recognized the Viper’s historical significance and chose to preserve it from day one as a future collectible.
Developed under the direction of Bob Lutz and inspired by Carroll Shelby’s Cobra ethos, the Viper RT/10 was purpose-built to deliver unfiltered, analog performance. Powered by an 8.0-liter V10 co-developed with Lamborghini and paired with a six-speed Tremec manual transmission, it offered 400 horsepower, 465 lb-ft of torque, and pure rear-wheel-drive engagement.
Early Vipers eschewed modern driver aids—no traction control, no airbags, no ABS—resulting in an unapologetic, visceral experience. This first-year car, with its signature Viper Red exterior and gray leather interior, is exactly how it left the factory in 1992, right down to the factory-original Michelin tires, soft top, side curtains, and tonneau cover.
This is not simply a well-preserved Viper—it is a true survivor of showroom quality, offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to acquire a first-year RT/10 in essentially untouched condition.
As the car that relaunched Dodge’s performance image and became a cultural icon throughout the 1990s, the 1992 Viper RT/10 is now firmly established as a modern American collectible. Among those, this example—with its extraordinary provenance, delivery mileage, and unrepeatable condition—is arguably one of the best in existence.
